Lawmakers in Mississippi have earmarked $300 million as relief aid for small businesses across the state that have been hurt by the coronavirus crisis.

The proposal, which now awaits the signature of Governor Tate Reeves, will provide every business which has been forced to shut down with a $2,000 check. If approved, the proposal would also provide businesses with the ability to apply for grants of up to $25,000.

The Legislature and Governor Reeves continue to battle it out over the details of the proposal.
