A New Window Opens for Sydney-Based Business

Window furnishings have always been a part of Yasmin Manttan’s life. As the owner of the largest blind and curtain manufacturer in Australia, Australian Curtain Industries, Yasmin’s father taught her all she needed to know.

She was always involved in every single part of the business and came to love everything about the design, functionality and aesthetics of window furnishings. But more than that, Yasmin’s father taught her the importance of exceptional customer service.

“My father instilled in me the importance of following through with clients, to always endeavour to deliver on time, on budget and to job specifications. Strong client relationships are paramount to our work. We believe in building client confidence through a personal, hands-on approach,” says Yasmin.

From this passion, her Sydney-based business The Art of Windows was born in 1996, continuing the family tradition of creating and selling both functionally and aesthetically appealing window dressings to both private and commercial clients.

Yasmin’s dream has always been to take her business one step further by manufacturing her own unique brand of Australian-made roller blinds and creating her own online product range, but she desperately needed extra funds to make this happen. She couldn’t sit around and wait for the bank to (possibly) grant her a loan, so Yasmin applied through Become and got her funding in 48 hours.

“I don’t think I can describe how easy it was. It was just surreal. I didn’t think anything could be this easy,” Yasmin comments.

So what makes The Art of Windows unique? In Yasmin’s words, ‘we make 100% washable products, made completely in Australia. We’re putting style back into something that was dated and old, we have a very quick turnaround time and a special focus on quality.’

A recipe for success. Now, thanks to her funding, Yasmin is on her way to achieving even more success doing what she loves.
