Small businesses may soon be eligible for a second round of PPP loans
Senate Republicans announced a proposal earlier this week that would introduce a range of government financial relief programs to help individuals and businesses still struggling to recover from the economic impact of COVID.
The proposal includes:
- $190 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program
- Enhanced federal unemployment insurance at 70% of a worker’s previous wages
- New tax credits for employee retention and other workplace expenses
- Legal protection for businesses, doctors, and schools against COVID lawsuits
